Sacha attended Centennial College (Child + Youth Work), Ryerson University (Child + Youth Care) & the University of Guelph-Humber College (Family + Community Social Services). Her expertise spans a variety of sectors including mental health, community engagement, policy, social services, youth justice, data management, and service navigation.
Born into a family from Barbados, Sacha was raised in Scarborough, Ontario and is a proud Bajan-Canadian with strong Caribbean roots. She loves music, especially soca, and believes that music has a way of reaching & soothing the soul. She uses a strength-based approach + anti-oppression lens to address depression, anxiety, emotional regulation issues, family conflict & trauma. She has a passion for working with youth, addressing social justice/systemic issues, and has developed workshops + treatment programs for youth involved with the justice system. Sacha aims to help empower individuals to understand how their experiences, culture, and social background intersect to develop their identity. She uses that knowledge to collaboratively develop unique treatment plans that assist individuals in achieving their personal goals & confidently navigating their mental wellness needs. She facilitates learning opportunities + activities for organizations that are authentic and progressive. Sacha's lived experience has propelled her dream to strengthen her community through the provision of culturally competent services and ensuring a safe space for Black people to discuss how systemic discrimination and inter-generational trauma uniquely impacts Black mental health.
